Cycling the Highland Trail 550 was one of the greatest bikepacking adventures of my life. The landscape, the weather, the sheer technical difficulty and meeting all the other riders made it a privilege to take part be. The story of my experience on the 2018 French Divide, a 2267 km (1408 miles) adventure across the rural interior of France on a bikepacking adventure with 126 other riders. Cycling coast to coast for 134 miles across Scotland with my two sons in our first ever long-distance bike ride together on the John Muir Way. The terrain is a mixture of single track, disused railway, coastal walkways, canal tow paths and winding urban routes through villages and our capital Edinburgh. The diversity of terrain, landscape and scenery makes for an amazing ride.
